About Take Another Route

Hi there, and thanks for Taking Another Route with me. Sometimes your life passion is discovered late, and I did not discover travel and adventure until I was well into my career. Work travel took me to many places, fueling my appetite to explore whatever state, continent, territory, or island I could reach.
My family always knew I was fearless, but as I ventured into places worldwide, they did worry. Returning from trip after trip, they found themselves involved in the spirit of my stories and could not wait for the next adventure. My inspiration to blog came from a family member saying you should document your trips and share. Here I am, 46 states within the USA, 36 Countries, and counting. Who knew? I shared many travels alone or with my BFF Susan, and now I travel with my loving partner.
During my travels, I found my interest are focused on more than just one aspect or activity, as I found some blogs. My blog may be fun to bring interest in three main areas. Long Haul represents international travel destinations, exotic, historic, and fascinating. Short Haul encompasses those special extended weekend trips that uncover the golden nuggets of life. Drop Anchor becomes a twist to travel as my partner, Urs, and I enjoy sailing, and the reach we experience via a sailboat takes us to unique locations.
I would love to hear your curious questions & feedback. I hope you enjoy the blog, photographs, and Taking Another Route with me.
